THE RENAISSANCE THROUGH THE EYES OF ARTISTS, IN A JOURNEY THAT THROUGH THE CENTURIES AND WHICH BUILDS ARTISTIC HERITAGE OVER TIME AND CULTURAL OF THE TERRITORY

Duration: 7 hours

A guided tour in Verona tells the story of three of its ancient streets paved with porphyry and red brick walls, the ancient history of the Roman era that inspired the greatest artists of the Renaissance.

Our tour begins in front of the Arena, the symbol of this city as well as one of the most beautiful and famous Roman amphitheaters in Italy. Continue with a nice walk to discover the historic center and its secrets: the imposing Palazzo della Gran Guardia, Palazzo Barbieri - also known as the Gran Guardia nuova - and the Porta dei Leoni. A minor, almost unknown work attributed to Andrea Palladio, the Altare del Fregoso, awaits you in the church of S. Anastasia, the largest, most solemn and representative church in Verona.

Afterwards, you can admire the frescoed facades of the noble palaces: in Piazza dei Signori the richness of the city echoes among the elegant arcades. The time has come to explore the homes of the two most famous lovers in the world, the Shakespearean Romeo and Juliet, who lived their love story right here, between the historical events of Montecchi and Capulets.

It will be an unforgettable emotion to be able to admire now the famous Piazza delle Erbe from above, directly from the Torre dei Lamberti. Stretching our gaze then, we will be able to admire also an unfinished Palladian building: Palazzo Dalla Torre. At the end of the our walking tour, we will cross the fortified towers of Castelvecchio, which preserve the beauty of the Veronese Renaissance Painting Museum: colors and new spaces are ajourney into the artistic mentality of the new Western art.
